A cinema camera before a deep navy cyclorama.

Film · Aurelin Maison

A film for the fiftieth.

Fourteen minutes on the making of one object, observed without voiceover, celebrity or the expected product reveal.

The brief

Celebrate fifty years without producing an anniversary film.

Aurelin Maison wanted a lasting expression of its craft, not a chronology or founder interview. The audience was design-literate and unlikely to reward polished brand language.

Montlior proposed following one object from raw material to final inspection, letting decisions, hands and workshop sound carry the story.

Approach

Observe the decisions

The treatment followed moments when a maker could continue, correct or begin again. No scripted dialogue was recorded. The score was built from workshop sounds gathered during production.

Delivery

Premiere, then depth

The film premiered to eighty guests in the Montlior screening room, then lived within a long-form article for six weeks. Short vertical cuts introduced processes without reducing the film to a trailer.

Result

Completion over reach

The film recorded 412,000 completed views and a 38% completion rate. Average viewing time among Montlior readers was 10 minutes 54 seconds, with 18,600 saves.

Film with patience

Some stories need room to breathe.

The Film Studio develops treatments, crews and distribution around the attention the story deserves.
